Kindness affirmations

Kindness affirmations spoken in your head or out loud are a caring way to be kind to yourself. They redirect your attention toward loving intentions, creating new self-compassionate thinking pathways and eventually habits.

So what does it mean, to be kind to yourself?

Well, it can mean going easy on yourself, believing in yourself, connecting deeply with yourself, listening to your body, looking out for yourself, being patient with yourself, and anything else you want.

I like to write my kindness affirmations beginning with 'I am', 'I can' and 'I will'. I pick and choose one of each depending on my mood, and I'll repeat them 3 times one hand on my heart, the other on my belly.

Just to be clear, when I say 'I am', 'I can' and 'I will', these things don't have to be a reality yet. Things can be a work in progress and that's fine. That's what kindness affirmations are all about: caring for you, encouraging you and uplifting you.

I am = what I am in the process of putting into place / what I would like to put into place

I can = what I have the ability to do / what I aspire to do

I will = what I am intending to do / what I would like my intentions to be

I find that saying my kindness affirmations out loud daily brings me back to the present moment and reminds me to go easy on myself.

Sometimes I'll be smiling afterwards, sometimes I'll feel motivated, sometimes I'll get the boost I need. It all depends on the day and what has been coming up for me.

What's important is that your kindness affirmations speak to you and do you good.

I am learning to open up to my feelings
I am learning to take care of myself
I am finding ways to be gentle with myself
I am moving forward one day at a time
I can say 'no' when I need to
I can put myself first
I can listen to my heart
I can tune into my intuition
I will look after my mind, body and spirit
I will take the time I need
I will do what feels right for me
I will be proud of each step I take

On any journey, be it wellness or fertility, showing kindness toward yourself is nourishing to your mind, body and spirit.
